Let's see:

Lately, I've seen a few movies.
Last week, I went to see No Country for Old Men. It was excellent. Certainly is not what I  was expecting: the story did not close in a clean way. You're left with questions and a little bit of uneasiness. To be quite honest, I think I like movies being left that way; Well, so long as they aren't horror films. The story line was fascinating, and I hadn't read the book: which makes me anxious to do so. It is always hard to compare books and movies, but I am looking forward to doing so. The movie did a great job of character-building and presentation of the plot, so I am confident that the book is going to be great.
Last week I also saw Lars and the Real Girl. Now, for those of you who have not seen the BBC documentary about the Real Dolls, you should probably do so, and then see the movie. It makes it that more fascinating to consider this: a somewhat self-inflicted lonely man orders a sex toy solely for the purpose of keeping him company. Throughout the entire movie I was waiting for him to jump on that hunk of plastic, but it never happened. You come to understand that this man's delusion is in part due to his overwhelming fear of getting too close to someone only to have them leave or die. The line that got me was this "Aren't the flowers pretty? They're fake; they'll never go anywhere. Isn't that great?" All being said from Lars to the beautiful Bianca, his real doll. It's kind of a twisted, heart-warming movie. Especially if you are a girl.

Furthermore...
We all know how my boyfriend loves Dunny from Kidrobot. That's no secret. Well, I have been utterly captivated by Gloomy Bear. Mind you, I did not own any until yesterday. I bought a Gloomy Bear keychain from Hot Topic, and I think I am going to start collecting the little guys. They're so cute. I never thought that I'd be so entranced by a two and a half inch plastic thing. But simply irresistible

In other news:
I have three finals left to take tomorrow. I work Friday AND Saturday this weekend. So, if you want, feel free to stop by Carvel and buy some ice cream. You won't be disappointed! :D
